Livin' on the road, my friend...

I'm really disappointed with the music "industry" these days.
I mean they call it INDUSTRY!
Isn't that just horrible?
I just read something about Lynyrd Skynyrd, and, I don't know, road rock stories are so romantic, aren't they?
16-17 year old guys, in the middle of nowhere, learned to play instruments, take someone's van, and drive to some "Battle of the bands" or whatever.
And if they're good enough...well, it's a history now...
All that touring, being on the road, loud guitars, friendships. Band being one family.
(Just to make sure, that everyone understands, I'm not talkin' about Lynyrd particularly, I just used them as an example.)
And of course there were so many bad things , like alcohol(I mean, too much of it), drugs, promiscuity, but it could and it can be different.
Now record companies try to invent a band that people, or mostly teenagers, will listen.
It's just wrong...
So, here my plea, if anyone wants to form a band, but like a real band, not the "wepracticeeverytwomonths" kind of band, quit you're jobs and follow me. :0)
To make music and play it.
I know this cry is in vain, but I had to try.
Tours, roads, friends, rock n' roll...OK, and beer, but in moderate, I don't need drunk, depressed musicians around. If you don't behave yourself, you'll get non-alcoholic one, and there's nothing more awful than that.I'll be a tough boss.

Oh I wish you were here in Dallas my friend. My soul resonates with your post. Something must break in the music world for us to get back to really great music (there are the rare few who are making great music). I'm afraid it will get worse before it gets better. The band you described is also the story of U2, BTW. Good post.

This is the story of many bands, of course.
I just wish I was in one of them, even if I wasn't really a musician, maybe just a drummer or something like that :0)
Of course I was happy in all of the bands I was in. I'm not complaining.

I won't allow any dancing of drunk adults, but Laci, you can bring your daughter, she would dance and yell :"Amen" all the time.
Jan when would we have reherseals?
Let me know
