My hometown( My city of ruins)

The Town I'm living in was wounded 16 years ago. It was raped, mutilated, and eventually died due to fatal wounds.
3 months of siege, and 6 months of most horrible war destroyed My Town totally.
Vukovar died in pain in November of 1991.
It was dead for a lot of years, and it's slowly resurrecting now.
I didn't think it will, I must admit.
I've spent my most important years, years from 10-19 in Novi Sad. I usually say I grew up there.
As a kid I couldn't understand all that shooting, bombing, running to the basement at night.
When my family left just before the siege, but after many fights we survived through, we watched everything on TV, and it seemed so unreal.

We saw destroyed buildings that we cared for, we saw bodies on the streets, blood, we heard about lot of people getting killed. Friends. Family. People we never knew.
I think it wasn't really real for me 'til I was 12-13.
Then I started realizing that the place of birth, and childhood doesn't exist anymore. It was painful and I never made peace with that.

It's hard even now, to see how it's destroyed. To hear stories of people that lived through all of that, and saw everything no one ever hopes to see.

I still don't know why it all happened. And I'm not talking about politics now.

I know that God gave us free will, to live or die, sin or refrain from sinning, let live or kill.

I especially don't understand that part;

Why did He give us free will to do that?

Anyway, I love my town, I loved it then, I love it now.
It's a small town(50000 citizens then, 35000 now) for those who have never been here, but it was really good for living, and I hope it will be again someday.

I don't know when... but I hope it will be soon.

Hurt doesn't just go away easily, but I hope that God will give us strength to rise up.

Here are few wise words from the Boss

Now with these hands
I pray lord
With these hands
For the strength Lord
With these hands
For the faith Lord
With these hands
I pray Lord
With these hands
For the strength Lord
With these hands
For the faith Lord
With these hands...“

meni nije zao sto si bio u novom sadu. Doduse, bio si malo depsresivan i mracan :-)
Tada to nisam razumeo. Ni sada ja to nemogu razumeti. Drugo je to kada dozivis to. Poneko ovde kritikuje hrvate sto se vracaju na rat. A kazem da bi i mi kada bi se ratovalo , rusilo na nasoj teritoriji.
Pa i mi stalno spominjemo bombardovanje.

All of you are welcome anytime!
Johnny boy ,my teacher, I would like to see you too here. ?
And Chris, you wouldn't believe the concert Milica and me attended last night.
There was a Bluegrass concert on the main square!
You can't see something like that very often here.
Violin, sorry, fiddle, was just amazing! It was really good!
And they played "Jambalaya" as a tribute to Hank Williams, and also they played some Bela Fleck instrumentals with fiddle and banjo! It was really great!Wish all of you could be here

A o srcu bih citirao velikog bosansko-hrvatskog filozofa Edu Majku
"Przi se srce moje,od ljubavi tvojeee, drugi nam srecu kroje, tuzni smo obojeeee".
Mislim da je ovo bolje od Einsteina, Moody-a, Levey-a i Homera(Simpsona).

I did not want to emphasise that they played Blea Fleck tunes with banjos and fiddles, cause that is how they are meant to be played i just wanted to say that it was great. And I now I feel stupid :(

After that we can play in church :-)
And after church concert we go to celebrate.

How much I need to pay you for advertising myself ? :-)
